HP Compaq Business Notebook nc6000 Series - How to Clear a Password

If servicing a notebook with an unknown password, follow these steps to clear the password. (These steps also clear CMOS.)
Prepare the notebook for disassembly.
Click here to view the "How to Prepare the Notebook for Disassembly" document for more detailed information.
Remove the real time clock (RTC) battery.
Click here to view the "How to Remove the Real Time Clock (RTC) Battery" document for more detailed information.
Wait approximately five minutes.
Replace the RTC battery and reassemble the notebook.
Connect AC power to the notebook. Do not reinsert any battery packs at this time.
Turn on the notebook.
All passwords and all CMOS settings have been cleared.

Pourtant il est bien indiqué dans le chapitre 1.3 comment effacer le mot de passe en décablant la pile au chapitre 5.20 : http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00725201/c00725201.pdf

A l'étape 5) de la section 1.3 Clearing a Password, tu dois rebrancher l'adaptateur sans remettre la batterie et tu allumes le portable.
Fais-tu bien cela ?
